Carrara Marble Water Stains

In situations where the carrara marble is constantly exposed to water the water can absorb and oxidize the iron so it rusts.

How do you make a marble poultice. Marble is not very absorbent so it does not stain easily. This is because the pores are closed down in the polishing process. Depending on what the specific stain is the solvent can be 6 percent hydrogen.

As the water evaporates it moves to the surface carrying the rust with it creating a rust stain. So closed in fact that marble often cannot absorb even a sealer stay tuned for my marble sealing post. You can use a cleaner specifically meant for marble or store bought detergent. Rub the paste into the stain with a soft cloth.

Clean the marble with warm water and detergent. Rust stains are yellow brown stains. Cover the area with plastic wrap for 24 hours. Rust stains carrara marble contains little bits of iron.

Vinegar ammonia hydrogen peroxide lemon orange or other citrus cleaners cleaners that are acidic. A yellow brownish stain has begun to appear on the marble bench slab. If these deposits are exposed to water they can rust and leach through to the surface causing the yellow brown stains. Combine the required solvent with water or baking soda.

Don t use soap as it is fat based and can cause the stone to darken. When water is cyclically applied to carrara marble the water will penetrate the marble surface time and time again. Over time the water will begin to rust the metallic deposits inside the stone and create a yellowish stain inside the stone. A marble stain is when a substance is absorbed into the pores of the marble.

Remove more difficult stains and water spots with a thick paste of baking soda and water.
